My Project
My 6th grade Literacy classes love to participate in centers regularly. This in an engaging way for them to apply the skills they have been learning about in class and discuss them with teachers and their peers in the context of a small group.
This project will help streamline our center time so that we can spend more time on learning.
Students are often required to move chairs around the room in order to sit at the teacher table. This can be disruptive and take time away from student learning. Having stools at the teacher table will ensure there is always a place for students to sit without moving furniture. In addition, headphones will help students listen to books and other audio related to their Literacy learning without disrupting their classmates. Finally, the visual timer will allow everyone in the class to see how much time is left before the center ends. This will help them to manage their time wisely when working on assignments, and will ensure they are ready to move to the next center when the timer goes off.
